An inbred horse simply takes a stat penalty based on the severity of the inbreeding. Once the stat penalty is applied the horse is what it is - it does not have any underlying genetic defects or incur any more penalty than the stat penalty.
This means an inbred horse is really just a horse with lower stats than its parents in most cases, and can still be a valuable purchase.
